Postby Dr_Cancel » Oct 16 06 11:33 pm

Hi all!

This problem already for a long time. When has begun I do not remember.

WWW Proxy Server ceases to work & at attempt to login to server by gatekeeper gives out the message
no data was received the during authorization

But all other NAT sevices working at this time.

I have turn off history.

It occurs once in 7 or 10 times of days on a regular basis.
Rescues server reboot only.

Win 2003 SP1 + WG 6.1.4 + MDaemon 9.0.4 + FTP Server + MS DNS Server

DNS Servers in LAN than forwarding to ISP DNS

Please help!

Hi

That message when trying to log in to GateKeeper indicates that something has hung the operation of the WinGate engine.

Things to look at.

1. Do you have any other AV system running on the WinGate machine? This can cause disruption if it is scanning WinGate folders, as the files in these folders change very often, and can cause excessive scanning and other timing related problems.

2. How many users do you have running through WinGate, and what sort of traffic are they putting through?

Regards

Adrien, thanks for reply.

1. On wingate machine installed AV for Mdaemon only. Earlier was KAV WinGate.

2.
about 200
Traffic:
basically http & icq
Also SSH, Telnet & other TCP for remote support our clients (VPN, SQLPlus, RAdmin, MS Remote Desktop Connection...)

I thought that a problem in the machine, but no.
Now it Dual Xeon with 2Gb RAM.
The problem has remained, began to appear less often, but has remained.

Just a thought,

Try turning off all logging in Wingate and it's services.

Temporary work around, scheduled task to stop / start the Wingate service at a quiet time on the network perhaps.

Report back if this helps.

Dr_Cancel, let me give you a suggestion: open a support ticket with QBik (support helpdesk), instead of just trying the forums.

Even though usually Qbik staff answer promptly on the forums, it doesn't seem to be happening in this case. I'm sure you'll get a great service through the helpdesk.

There are some advantages to this: you can send them files with exports of your configuration, registry, logs, etc.
