I have WinGate 6.0.3 installed on computer with the only ethernet adapter
connecting it to local network. IP address is 192.168.0.101/255.255.255.0
License "WinGate Pro 5x.6 Users" is activated. (I tried "WinGate Pro 6x.6 Users" with the same effect)
Network adapter is specified in Network Tab as "Internal":
Name Type Status Usage DeviceName IP Address Gateway
Local LAN or High-Speed Internet Enabled Internal Realtek.... 192.168.0.101 192.168.0.1
All services but RemoteControlService and ExtendedNetworing as disabled and stopped
RCS is bound to "any IP address on any adapter"
I started GateKeeper on this computer and then tried to connect to WinGate as 192.168.0.101:808.
GateKeeper looks like connected but both its panes are empty - no services are listed!
Log file contains following entries:

09/22/04 20:53:19 192.168.0.101 Administrator 0000000039 Terminated exit code 0
The similar effect takes place when I'm trying to connect from the another computer in the same network.
That's not the only problem I have with new version of WinGate, but this one look to be most reproducable!
Any ideas how to solve this problem are very appreciated.

Hi
Looks like some policies have been changed which are banning the administrator account from accessing various system rights.
I would expect that also you would have this problem logging in from the local machine as well then?
Are you using the NT user database, or WinGate's one? If the NT one, is your Administrator account a member of the Administrators group? By default, access to all this stuff is granted to the Administrators group (unless you changed some system policies).

One more thing.
Remote access using GateKeeper is only available if you have a WinGate Professional or Enterprise license.
You can still connect (so that the Java login still works), but you won't have access to anything.

VS: Specially to avoid this potentical problem I've granted RCS to Everybody! Ity didn't help

VS: Surprisentely I have no problems connecting to localhost:808 or 127.0.0.1:808
Any other ideas. What I'm going to do now is to remove current installation of WinGate, to try to cleanup registry removing all references to WinGate, and then to reinstall WinGate 6.0

I tried both trial license and VinGate6.x Professional 6 Users with the same results.
But anyway it looks that I found the solution:
1-st I cleaned all previous installations and reinstalled WinGate anew - after that I was able to connect to it both as localhost:808 and 102.168.0.101:808.
2. But still I wasn't able to cannec from the other computer in teh same network 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0
When trying to connect from 192.168.0.1 I got "Go offline" button active but both pannels remaining grey. But aftyer some experiments I noticed that as soon as I started WinGate on my server 192.168.0.101 I cannot ping it with packets larger then 256 bytes. After stopping WinGate pings of any size go without problems.
I had to go to WinGate Advanced Options and check "Realtek...." checkbox (my card was detected as NE2000 Compartible). After that pinging goes smoothely and I now can get remote control over WinGate
Thanks, maybe this will help somebody else :-)
