Use wingate with exchange...

May 05 05 2:34 am

Hello,

I have a NT4 machine with exchange 5.5, ms proxy server 2.0 and an internet connection (ISDN) with a static ip (in order to receive emails)...

I install the wingate 6.04 (latest) in a win2000 server and I would like to use it as the proxy to the internet... I use the following features - services of the wingate:
-) Winsock redirector
-) GDP service
-) Remote control service
-) POP3 server
-) SMTP server
-) FTP proxy server
-) Logfile server
-) POP3 proxy server
-) RTSP streaming ...
-) SOCKS proxy server
-) Telnet proxy server
-) VDOLive proxy server
-) WWW proxy server
-) XDMA proxy server

I must create an internet connection in the win2000 (wingate) and use the static ip...

The exchange will be in the NT4 machine and the internet connection (static ip) in the win2000 one (with the wingate)...

1) What settings I must do in the wingate in order to forward the mails to the NT4 exchange? Do I have to use NAT?

2) What I must do in the NT4 exchange in order to send the outgoing mails to the internet mail "gateway" server?

3) Is it necessary to instal some kind of client in the NT4 machine?

Thank you

Hi

Look at

scenario 2 describes your setup by the sounds of it.
