network not working !

as soon as i installed wingate 6 on my win98SE PC, it fails to show up on our LAN ! please help.

edit the adapter usage in the Network panel in GateKeeper by double clicking it, and choosing how the adapter should be treated.

When you look at the adaptors in the Network tab, is the one for the LAN marked as 'internal' and say another one for the internet 'external' if so that would be correct and some other issue is at play with the rather old Win9x o/s you have.

Can client / server ping each other I wonder?
