Wingate nat log error

Sep 02 05 8:41 am

I'tryin to play to total annihilation with a friend.

I need to open port 47623 in TCP&UDP (out) and ports 2300 to 2399 (in).
I'm playing a machine connected to the wingate serveur (192.168.0.2).
I can't see him (he's running in server mode).

What shall i do ??
Create service ? redirect ? help!

I sometime have got this error :
09/01/05 21:26:36 Authorisation failure: NAT STATUS: firewall allow: TCP src 192.168.0.3:1207 dst 82.67.42.108:47624

Thanks

Hi,

You will need to make a NAT connection through WinGate and if you're playing on a machine behind WinGate you'll probably need to map those ports (2300 to 2399) through to your machine.

I sometime have got this error :
09/01/05 21:26:36 Authorisation failure: NAT STATUS: firewall allow: TCP src 192.168.0.3:1207 dst 82.67.42.108:47624

Were you logged into WinGate? How do you authenticate?

As a footnote to Matts comments.

1. Check you have NAT installed

2. Check that your network adapters were detected correctly by WinGate. The network card pointing towards the LAN should be marked as "Internal" and the network card / modem that is pointing towards the internet should be marked as "External". GateKeeper --> View menu --> Network.

3. On the client machine behinds the WinGater server, check that you have TCP/IPs configuration set for NAT. The DNS and Gateway is usually the internal IP address of the WinGate server.

So if the WinGate servers internal IP address is
IP Address 192.168.0.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0
DNS
Gateway

Then an example clinet configuration to use NAT will be
IP Address 192.168.0.2
Subnet 255.255.255.0
DNS 192.168.0.1
Gateway 192.168.0.1

4. If you are currently using the WinGate internet client, disable it.

5. If you want to open ports 2300 to 2399, to be redirected to the client machine, you will need to create a port map in "Port Security". Please note the blue box in the image below. You MAY need to tick that box

If you are still finding this challenging to setup; please advise.

Wingate Machine. W2K Server.
IP Address 192.168.0.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0
NAT activated

Total Annihilation Machine. W2K Server.
IP Address 192.168.0.2
Subnet 255.255.255.0
DNS 192.168.0.1
Gateway 192.168.0.1

Wingate Ports :
Internet to WG : 2300-2399 -> Redirect to 192.168.0.2 (TCP&UDP)
Local computer to internet : 47623 allow (TCP&UDP)

With this config :
- authorisation failure as discribe in my first mail (Im not using WGIC, I dont have Domain (only workgroup))
---

Theres some other 'strange' things :

When I run T.A in server mode, there's one remote player (let say Remote1) that can see me, and a second (Remote2) that never see me.
When Remote1 run in server mode, Remote 2 can see him and I dont see him.
When Remote2 run in server mode, Remote 1 see him and I still dont see anybody...
So I think the problem comes from Wingate (and redirection) but I really dont exactly from where.

I think I'm going to install T.A on the wingate server and see if it works...

According to this web page, http://www.portforward.com/cports.htm , the total annihilation ports are:

TCP 2300-2400,47624
UDP 2300-2400

I notice your error was for 47623, not 47624

On that web page I have referenced, it will also show you how to configure your ADSL router (if you have one). Please let us know how you get on, and if you are at a loss, please send the following to sales@wingate.com so we can check your settings.

1. WinGate registry
GateKeeper --> Options --> Advanced --> Save Registry Settings
2. WinGate Config Report
GateKeeper --> Options --> Advanced --> Save Report
3. ipconfig /all on the WinGate server.
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd --> ipconfig/all >> C:\ipa.txt
Once you run that command, navigate to C:\ipa.txt to get the details.
