Wingate not working.

I have been networked using wingate for about 6 months. When I came home a few days ago it suddenly stopped working. There is no error message or anything like that. It just won't let me connect to the internet or my messenger. I am also a novice at computers and networking.

I am really confussed and would be grateful for any help.

I have been networked using wingate for about 6 months. When I came home a few days ago although the engine is running I cannot connect to the internet from my laptop.There is no error message or anything like that. It just won't let me connect to the internet . I am also a novice at computers and networking.

Wingate was set up on my pc and laptop by a friend so I haven't a clue what to look for.

I am really confused and would be grateful for any help.

Hi,

Can you check that your license is still active? You can open the license manager from Start-->programs-->WinGate-->License Manager. You should see your license listed there.

Is the WinGate engine started? You should be able to tell from the WinGate icon in the systray. If it's blue then it's running, if it's red it's stopped, and yellow means that it is starting or stopping.

What OS are you using? If you're running XP and SP2 has recently been installed check that the personal firewall has been disabled.

Hi thanks for your help. I did what you said but it says that the license says it doen't expire. Also when I put my mouse on it it says that the wingate engine is running. Is there anything else it could be.
