I am using an older version of Wingate. For testing before actually upgrade it, I installed Wingate 6.5.1 on a new PC ( with Windows Vista ) and activated it with trial license. In gatekeeper it said Extened Networking is not installed. How can I make it install the Extended Networking for me?

Hi
Normally in the installer, there is a screen which asks you if you want to install the Extended Networking driver. Was this checkbox selected when you installed WinGate?
Note that you must be running as an administrator to install the driver on Vista.

Also, during the install process the installer might ask you to confirm that the driver is allowed to be installed - the system message pops up. Make sure you reply "Yes".

Hi!
Thank you.
I redo the installation. I do logged in Visat as a adminstrator, and selected ENS. At almost the end of installation, it popped up a look-like command shell windows, title:" .....\wingate\drivers\vista\qbik......exe",
" INF directory obtained
Obtaining PnP ID for the driver
Initiating install request"
and an Error message window popped up on top of previous window:
"Error 0x800f0203: Couldn't install the network component.
Possible cause: There is no driver selected for the device information set or element."
still no Extened Networking.

I can send you separate package to install the driver only - would you be interested in trying it?

Yes, that'll be great.

Good - I will send it to you on Monday (unless I manage to get to the office on Sunday). Quick question, though - you are not trying to install it on Vista 64 bit, are you? Because that is not going to work - we will have 64bit version ready shortly but at the moment it is not available.

Oops!
Mine is a "Windows Vista Home Premium" - 64 bits Operating System.
So, I'll have to wait for the new version to come out.
Thank you anyway! ( with a big smile. :D)

Please send me separate package to install the driver only too. I have the problem with ENS driver installation on Windows 98, winGate 6.2.2

For 6.2.2, unfortunately, there is no separate installer. What kind of problem do you experience?

I have error "The ENS driver was not loaded", but I check ENS driver option on installation. I use Wingate 6.2.2 on Windows 98. In Control Panel / System / Extended Networking / General I see status: "not installed".
What I can do to reinstall the ENS driver? Wingate reinstallation has no effects.
Error message:
Message ID: 0704
Description: The ENS driver was not loaded. This may mean that it is missing or has been disabled. Press F1 for further details on possible causes and remedies.

Can you, please, make sure that the actual file qbikhk98.vxd was copied into your \windows directory

There is a problem with the 6.2.2 ENS driver and Windows 98. If you downgrade to 6.2.1, the driver will be able to load again.

Yes, in version 6.2.1 the ENS driver is installed succesfully. Thanks.
