Is this approved by Qbik?

Sorry, but what type of approve you mean? It's first public beta version of plug-in, not commercial.
Of course, we send plugin to Qbik partners for internal testing, but "official approve" is possible only after release version (stable, commercial).

I have answered your question, I hope :)

The question was more "Are you an official Qbik partner or have you developed this without their approval".

Also, when will a WinGate 7 version be available?

Sorry, my friend, but this is not related to the software testing, i think.
But, if its really important for you, may be you can request to Qbik...

Unfortunately, no date for the moment :(

Hi Larry (and others watching).

We provided Dr Web with an SDK for this purpose a while ago. As far as I understand they are keen to write one for WinGate 7, but timing for that is dependent on stabilisation and development of an SDK for WinGate 7, which depends itself on WinGate 7 development.

We don't require people who wish to use our SDK to be official Qbik partners - there's no contract required. We have had queries in the past about other AV options, and I understand Dr Web is well known and respected in many territories.

So we congratulate Dr Web on taking this step and putting in this investment.

Regards

Adrien

Just tried Dr Web plugin for Wingate. Installation was easy after reading through their manual. However in operation it caused the Wingate engine to fail multiple times. Uninstallation was easy as well. Culprit seems to be DrWebforWingate.dll. So there you are, although a new av plugin for Wingate is a good thing, given all the problems KAV is giving me at least, the first experience with Dr Web is a bit dissapointing. But it is still in Beta.

Hi!

Thank you for testing!
Could you please give us more information about engine failures - logs, screenshoots, Windows Event Log, etc. What was the exact version of WinGate you used?

Can you please send %programfiles%/WinGate/drwebforwingate.log file with plugin's log to a.tarasov [at] drweb.com. Or, may be, more comfortably our bug tracker on bugs.drweb.com (email registration need).

Also, was failure just in time of WinGate start or it crashed on some data checking?

Yes, it's still beta =)
Are you ready to try a new version?

Thanks!

New build of Dr.Web for Qbik WinGate proxy plug-in!

1) Has been added anti-spam module!
Mail that going through "SMTP server" and "POP3 Proxy server" services now can be checked for SPAM.
Three spam-category (by probability): "High", "Medium" and "Low". Individual action settings for each category: "Skip" / "Subj" / "Move" / "Delete".
"Skip" - spam-message will be delivered to recipients without any changes;
"Subj" - spam-message will be delivered to recipients. Prefix, that you can set in "SpamSubj" parameter will be added to Subject;
"Move" - spam-message will be moved to quarantine (Dr.Web or/and WinGate), and will NOT be delivered to recipients;
"Delete" - spam-message will NOT be delivered to recipients and will NOT moved to any of quarantines.

Black/White List (BWL) functions of module:
Using "SpamBlackList" and "SpamWhiteList" parameters you can define email addresses, domain or addresses groups that will be considered as 100% SPAM or 100% NOT SPAM. Examples:

SpamBlackList=spamer@bad.com;*@spammers-domain.com;spamer@*;
SpamWhiteList=friend@my.com;*@acme.com;admins@*;

Anti-spam function may be disabled by setting parameter "CheckSpam" to "No" in the drweb32.ini;

2) Has been added Statistics.
See in drwebwingate.stat XML file.

3) Plug-in debug log in %InstallDir% now, not in WinGate folder.
4) Other fixes.

P.S.:
All parameters and it's values should be written without quotes!

Been working with the people from Dr Web on getting this working on my system. Latest version works but don't use any other AV software on the same system. I had been using Webroot and that gave some serious problems. Things are up and running and stable otm.
