Make Ban List work like Black Hole

Aug 24 10 10:12 pm

Is there a way to make Ban List work like Black Hole?
I don't want uses to see the "Access Denied" page. Just want them to wait forever like Black Hole.
Thanks.

You mean only for some sites?

You can ban the server IP in the ENS policy, that way the client won't get a connection.

Are the clients using proxy, or NAT (intercepted?) to connect to the internet?

Yes, only certain sites, and for certain users.
I use ENS and WWW Proxy (intercept port 80).
I am using ENS Black Hole list, but I want to apply it to certain users only.

Just prefer the way Black Hole works, rather than Ban List which shows "Access Denied".

If you can wait for WinGate 7, it has the ability to drop an HTTP request in the proxy and no response is sent back to the client. This results in a time-out on the client side, rather than an access denied message.

You can find out more about the new version of WinGate and sign up for the beta at http://www.wingate7.com

Hi, I am trying WinGate 7 now, but I can't find the ability to drop an HTTP request in the proxy you mentioned.
Can you tell me where is it? Thanks

Hi

you need to use WinGate's policy system. At the point where you want to drop the connection, insert a result object, and select "Disconnect" as the result action.
