Hi, I'm on a university ISP, and I'm hoping to set up a wireless network for my apartment. Unfortunately, the IT department has set up the routers to lock down ports if they detect more than one MAC address on a port, so my question is: If I set up NAT with my ethernet card and wireless card on my desktop, will the router on the other end detect the wireless card and wireless clients on the routing box? I'd really like to not have to test this, because I'll then have to call up OIT (office of information technology) and explain to them how and why I got the port shut down. Thanks.

Hi
Anything forwarded by the ethernet interface on your WinGate box should have it's MAC address as the source MAC, so routing, NAT or proxy should all be hidden from the next hop.
Bridging is a different story - so don't turn that on.
