enabling apps that use ports other than 80

Postby Cuba » Aug 28 06 10:57 pm

so ive got everything working great except this financial app.
run on the proxy pc itself just fine. but doesnt run on client's pc's
apparently it used ports 22222 and 22228 to communicate live with its server.

any help in enabling it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi there

How is your client connecting to the Internet through WinGate ? (NAT,WinGate Internet Client, Proxy)

If your client is using NAT, then:

It sounds like the Finance app is making a connection out on one port and its seems at a guess that the server has a data channel inbound on the second port. (You can look for this connection/port reaching the firewall on the firewall tab. To determine whether this is the case)

If this is the case you can add a security filter in the ENS Port Security config to redirect all inbound traffic on this port to the client machine.
Choose the "Internet connections to the WinGate PC" option and the required port, and choose redirect to the IP of the client machine.

This way the client will receive all of the required traffic that has come inbound from the Internet.

Hope this helps
