I have just been through an extreme amount of cracking and am now with a new ISP (actually the one that I was with for nearly a decade before switching to another ISP for cheaper service).

I have not deployed my Wingate Server as of yet, as I am so paranoid of trying to insure that I have everything correct.

My question that I believe many others may have asked time and time again is as follows:

Preamble:
I am running Windows XP Home with all SP2 updates, Zone Alarm Pro, McAfee AntiVirus, and Adaware SE Adwatch on the computer that I am writting this with. I have been with my new ISP for less than 24 hours and the aDSL modem appears to be blocking all attempts for external IP's to access me on this, and my other computers (by looking at my ZA logs religiously).

Question:
When running Windows XP Home with all updates (SP2), what services should be enabled or disabled to best configure a Wingate Server using the third scenario? I want to always protect my own laptop with Wingate, as well as my family's, but want them to be able to access the internet when I am not home, as I don't want the Server to run 24/7 (battery backup or not/which it is on).

If you run your computer mainly as a router/firewall for your internal LAN, then you don't need ZA, McAfee and such - Wingate does not allow unidentified connections anyway.
