The easiest method of blocking torrents on your network is to take a white-list approach to controlling access to the internet. That is to say, instead of trying to block torrents (which is an almost impossible task), it's quicker and easier to block everything by default and then allow only services that you want your users to have access to, such as WWW, SMTP, POP3, FTP, etc.
- Go to GateKeeper -> Control Panel -> System -> Extended Networking -> Port Security
- Select the "LAN connections to the Internet" zone from the top-left drop down list, and "TCP" from the top-right drop down list.
- Change the default action from the bottom-right drop down list to "Deny"
Your Port Security settings should look something like this:
