RTSP proxy not functioning with m.youtube.com and other RTSP

Hi, I'm trialing the Wingate proxy server and have come across an issue.

The RTSP proxy errors out when going to RTSP sites like m.youtube.com and Soma FM.

I've confirmed that Real Player on the Wingate machine can access the content without issue. When Real Player uses the Wingate proxy, it consistently errors out.

Example Clip from Youtube:

rtsp://wwan.rtsp-youtube.l.google.com/C ... /video.3gp

I have the RTSP server setup to allow any connections.

Any suggestions?

have you tryed it without going though wingate becouse it could be the other ends down?

Yes, I can connect without the proxy on all computers.

Hi,

Have you MSN Messenger on any workstation, that experiement connection/deconnection in loop too ? Do you use ENS ?

If "yes", you should have a look a this post, "may be" it will fix also your pb :-)

This is a clean install of Windows 2003 with no third party software.

Does Wingate support 3GPP streams?

Hi Corran,

RTSP is just a control protocol, in that it aids the establishment and control of media sessions between endpoints. The transmission of streaming data itself is not actually a task of the RTSP protocol so if the stream is 3GPP, that will not effect RTSP.

Do you know if the stream is UDP or TCP? I have noticed some problems with UDP stream control through the RTSP proxy where TCP streaming works fine.
