Data Cap reached must terminate current sessions

Sep 03 10 2:08 am

Hi guys

I have allocated a spesific amount of data to users om my www proxy. When they are browsing and hit their cap the next URL they open is Denied as expected. The issue is this, someone start a download that is bigger than his allocated data cap, the file then downloads even after passing the allowed cap and continue until finished or until the connections are reset.

I understand why, the connection was made before the cap was reached and all new connections will be blocked. How can I terminate all sessions after the data cap has been reached ?

Thanks

Hi

WinGate doesn't have a way to do this.

Cutting off connections when a cap is reached can have quite bad consequences, e.g. when someone is 99% through a large download.

You can possibly buffer things a bit by setting a slightly lower cap, then any large sessions that come through late won't take the user so far over the limit (if at all).
