modifying default timeout value

Postby John_L » Mar 22 13 11:49 am

I am a new WinGate 7.2.7.3453 user, with a default installation.

When accessing the web via WinGate Proxy Server, I typically receive the message "Socket Error : Connection to Remote Host timed out {Thd 3100} [socket #CC8, 0.0.0.0:1604 to :0]"

Is there a control that I can adjust to increase the timeout value used?

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Hi

the OS has registry values you can use to adjust this, but I wouldn't recommend it. Normally timeout means the other end isn't there or you're getting blocked somewhere.

TcpMaxConnectRetransmissions affects how many times a connection will be attempted.

This may have changed depending on your OS.
