wingate 3.0.5

Postby hotgossip » Sep 22 04 8:43 pm

I have a licence for wingate 3.0.5 and I have been using win2k server and it was working perfectly until I upgraded to win 2003 server and my wingate gives me binding error. The 'www proxy service' has a red exclamation mark. When I upgrade to wingate 6.0.3 and try to access the gate keeper it says you could be using a different version of wingate and gatekeeper.

What could be wrong.

Hi

Win2k comes with a WWW server built in, which would be running on port 80, and conflicting with WinGate's WWW Proxy. That would have been the reason for the problem with WinGate 3.0.5

As for the version issue with GateKeeper, is it possible you are still somehow accessing the WinGate 3 GateKeeper? Did you install WinGate 6.0 into the same directory, or another one?

Try running the GateKeeper.exe from the WinGate directory using explorer.
