Wingate server behind a proxy?

Postby isralien » Sep 30 04 11:41 pm

Is it possible? here's my situation:
I have a LAN internet, which is passing through a proxy.
Can I configure the wingate server so that it can redirect his (my roommate's) requests to the proxy?

I'm not quite clear on what you are asking, but if your scenario is that there is a client machine behind WinGate, and in turn WinGate is behind another proxy, then yes WinGate does support cascaded proxies. In the WWW proxy properties (under the Services tab in GateKeeper), one of the options is for 'Connection'. It is here that you set the upstream proxy for WinGate to go through. This can also be done for the FTP, Telnet, and POP3 proxies.
