Wingate & POP3 ERROR

Postby Andyt3e » Aug 19 10 6:25 am

Hi,

I have installed Wingate and everything is working fine, untill my users started sending emails via POP3 ( Our emails are coming down by our website domain and everyone has been set up with pop3 to grab the emails)

Our emails got blocked by the hoster because for some reason #255.255.255.0 (subnet mask) was being adding to the request from client end to the hoster every email that failed had this subnet mask on it and all the ones that worked just had the normal IP that I would/should expect to see, however with the failing emails the hosters server blocked our IP so no one could send emails.

I have now got the hoster to unblock our IP, I am worried tho that this subnet mask error was caused by WinGate. I am still only just learning the WinGate program and would be greatful for anyhelp in ensureing that this problem does not happen again.

The company has over 100 email address which are all mission curtical to the bussines, I was looking for a number in which I could ring up and ask for help but I dont seem to see one anywhere on the main site.

If anyone has had this problem or could help me configure WinGate so this does not happen again I would be very thankful.

Kind Regards

sending emails via POP3

Usually when there's a problem sending emails through your email provider, they will send you a bounce email that explains the problem. If you received such an email, can you post it to the forums for us to see? Feel free to edit out any private information that you don't want revealed on a public forum (Such as names, emails or IP addresses).

The phone number for technical support can be found on http://www.qbik.com/qbik/contact/index.php
