Proxy SFTP (SSH)

Feb 03 11 2:21 am

Wingate is working as a FTP proxy server.
We now want to connect to various external SFTP servers.

Our current working FTP proxy setup has:
Wingate server has trusted (internal) and untrusted (external) NIC interface.
Internal client PC's don't route through Wingate they proxy to it using the internal IP and port configured for FTP Proxy server.
The FTP client application (FileZilla, but could be something else) has FTP Proxy type configured with USER@HOST

What do I need to do to proxy the SFTP (SSH) connection?
From Gatekeeper what service would I add (any special config?)
On the FTP client application what proxy settings would I use?

Hi

does the FTP client have an option for SOCKS? The easiest way may be to go through the SOCKS server.

I have to use SFTP via Interarchy for Mac to communicate with a customer's server. Interarchy doesn't support a SOCKS proxy for SFTP from what I can see. So how can I get SFTP through Wingate 7?

Hi Andy

I've opened a ticket with nolobe (Interarchy developers). Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it for you.
