Hi
When I try to send mail from an external network through the wingate smtp service, I get error 421 in my client (outlook 2010). I checked the wingate log and this is what it says:
Client closed connection unexpectedly Expecting MAIL - terminating
I'm using the free 3 user license right now, I have a valid license for wingate 6 but only plan to upgrade if everything works fine.

Hi
Is it possible more that 3 clients are connected? WinGate will send a 421 back to a mail client if the license count limit is exceeded.
if this is the problem, activating a trial license would fix it.

It happens even if there are no clients connected at all.

I've just activated a trial license, and I still get the 421 error. And its also the same in wingate.

Can you enable debug logging in the SMTP server, and post a larger set of log entries please?

I've found the problem, it turns out that the cause is not Wingate but Avast Business Endpoint Protection Suite Plus
