Apologies for the double post, I didn't see the message that new posts would need to be moderator approved the first time.
I've given Sawmill a try and I've attempted to configure AWstats to read the logs, and neither of them are really doing what I need. Basically, we're in a very strictly bandwidth limited scenario here. Internet is provided only by satellite and is very expensive, we have only 10GB of data transfer per month before we need to buy additional blocks of data 1GB at a time. We decided to use Wingate primarily for the proxy cache, we have 20 users on the network, and if everyone's system is downloading the same files and automatic program updates, that 10GB disappears very quickly.
I noticed that Wingate 6's proxy cache wasn't always working as well as I'd have expected it to, and noticed that there was the update available so I moved to it. Now the cache seems to be working more reliably, but I'm not able to get the data that I'd like.
What I'm looking for from the logs is basically the ability to be able to see a month at a time or so, and be able to see, in the best case:
A) Total data used per IP over the period.
B) Total data served from cache per IP over the period.
C) Breakdown of site access, ordered by data transfered, grouped by IP over the period.
D) Total data used by all clients, cache used by all clients and site access by all clients over the period.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a way to find this data that's usable with the Wingate 7 software? There are some nice features in thew new version, and I like the visualization for the timeline, but I really need a good way to parse the log to get the data I was able to get from version 6.
