StarCraft - 2vs2 game, 1 public IP for a two computers

Postby Michal » Jan 29 06 1:38 pm

Hi
I wanna play 2vs2 game with my bro on Battle.net
I have:
- 2x StarCraft
- 2x computers
- 1x public IP
- LAN (192.168.0.1-2)
- 2x Windows XP SP2
- wingate

WHAT I DO:
1.
I forward port 6112 to 192.168.0.2 and he can host game
(WinGate > Services > New Services > UDP Mapping service > Service port = 6112 ; Default Mapping = 192.168.0.2 Port = 6112) mb i mess with BINDINGS or smth

2.
On 192.168.0.1 I set game data port = 6115
Code: Select all
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Battle.net\Configuration]
"Game Data Port" = dword:000017e3

here is my LAN:

Wingate does not do source NAT - but you can try UDP mapping which will suit your need better.

UDP Mapping? Wingate stils supports it. As fo the NAT solution - it was not available back then.

I am not sure how their protocol works, but can it be the case of all the players being on one IP address?

Hi Michal,

I just want to see if I have interpreted your issue correctly.

Your Brother is on the same network as you.
You have opened ports on the WinGate computer to allow people from the internet join your brothers’ hosted game.
When you connect in from the Same LAN, it starts to lag everyone; correct?

Question.

1. Can you make a direct connection to his server, or do you have to go via an InGame Server Browser; which is BattleNet? i.e. you are connecting to the External IP Address of your internet connection: 64.233.167.99
