Still having problem with RT8029

Postby kgoodknecht » Aug 02 04 5:59 am

It was my understanding that the problem with RT8029 was fixed in v6. I upgraded to v6 and immediately lost external DNS resolution. I moved my public addresses to a spare NIC (LNE100TX) and was able to get DNS working again. What do I have to do to make RT8029 work so I can keep my installed spare NIC a spare NIC for emergencies?
That brings up another question about NAT in v6, but Ill post that to another thread.

Hi Kevin

Are you referring to the registry setting fix for 8029 chipset?
This can be set simply under the "Hardware Specific" configuration in the new WinGate Advanced options found under the WinGate entry in the start menu.

Go to Menu Start\Programs\WinGate\Advanced Options
Under "Hadrware Specyfic" tick a Realtek 8029 Chipset in use (Toggle)

And Rebot machine. It should now work OK.

Thanks Erwin and Mickey, I knew there must be a setting somewhere, I just had to find it, and who'd thunk it would be in the programs menu.
