Im using wingate 5.2.3

My problem is that things such as nbtstat and net view dont work on internet computers...

Is wingate filterting these requests out. I have disabled all firewalls...

I also had this problem when using a router, which is why i came for wingate

You're trying to do a nbtstat or net view for computers that are on the internet ?

I think you'll need to open some port ranges for that (the relevant netbios ports) but that will make your system open to people wanting to do the same to you. However, you say you've disabled the WinGate firewall, correct ?

I dont have any firewall on at the mo, including win gates...

So this has nothing to do with wingate then...

A machine out on the internet, responding to nbtstat or net view commands will be asking to brought down. That's like saying: "Rest of the world, please come use me as a Zombie, load me with virusses and use me in DOS attacks against the rest of the world".

I suspect it's because the machines you are trying to to run nbtstat or net view against are actually swallowing your requests / rejecting them out of hand - as any decently secured machine should do.
