NAT / Filesharing Problems

Postby dbs » Aug 20 04 5:52 am

Dear Qbik,

Since upgrading to Wingate V6.0.1 we have experenced a number of problems, mainly in the fact we are using Wingate as a gateway and it appears to be limiting the amount of traffic going to and from the local lan to the server.

It has been disconnecting systems from the network, mainly shown in the fact you are shown as working offline, but also via MDaemon groupware showing not enough system resources available.

One other strange development has been filesharing programs such as Kazaa and Bearshare have showed incredible slow down in performance. If you try any of these such programs on the server for instance thus by passing the Wingate gateway then the performance is ten fold over the clients.

I have tried increasing the network buffers in the advanced settings but i'm at a loss. Please help

Try switching off the monitoring for dead gateways in ENS properties.
