How can we prevent client machines from connecting to Yahoo Messenger through WinGate 6?

How are your clients connecting to WinGate?
erwin wrote:You can do this if each client is using the WinGate Internet Client.(WGIC) Since WGIC communicates with the WinGate server via WRP service in GateKeeper if you have an Enterprise licence, you can control the application (Messenger) from the Central Configuration option.
Either that or configure a policy in the WRP service.
(this from our knowledgebase)
1. Select the appropriate user or group with whom you wish to restrict application use.
2. Click on the Ban tab
3. Put a tick in the Enable ban list check box at the top and then click the Add button.
4. The Criterion dialog will appear
5. Select This criterion IS met if option
6. From the first drop down menu select CLIENT APPLICATION NAME.
7. From the Second drop down menu select CONTAINS.
8. In the last box type the application name you wish to restrict into the last text box e.g messenger.exe.
Hope this helps
Regards
Erwin
