3 users + server = how many concurrent users??

Postby jacky » Sep 06 04 12:17 am

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying WinGate 6 for my home LAN, which has 3 computers that needs to acces the Internet (at the same time), and another one this will onyl be used as the WG server, and most of the time not even logged in (GateKeeper)

Will a 3 users licence be good, or does the server count even if not using WG ??

Thanks,
jacky

Hi

The server itself does not count. Even if the server itself is configured to go through WinGate, these licenses are not counted, whether the connection is over the localhost interface (127.0.0.1), or over any IP address local to that machine.

Furthermore we do not count a license for DNS lookups, WinGate Client control channel connections, or GateKeeper connections, so if you are using the WinGate Client, it only consumes a license for that user if it is actually doing something (i.e. making connections out to the Internet).
