Since we upgraded to Wingate 6.01 Prompt appears twice

Postby sugan.s » Sep 10 04 12:24 am

[quote: "Sugan"] Hello;

We have recently upgraded our Wingate server to 6.01 since then the java prompt would not appear on the users Pc’s & it was displaying the error message as “403 you are not authorized to view this page”. Eventually I have got the java prompt appearing by enabling the following two options under www proxy server services they are
1) Java client strong wingate only
2) Basic weak either enabled

Since then the users are getting two prompts, the first prompt from IE & the second prompt from java login. In order to successfully log on & get on to the internet the users have to successfully log on to both.

I have spent quite a bit of time trying to solve this issue non seems to be stopping the first IE (internet explorer)prompt from prompting. Please help me solve this issue.

For your information :

Wingate server runs on Win2k Professional & we use Wingate Database for authentication

That is a known bug related to assumed (weak authentication such as basic or straight assumption) and authenticated (ntlm or java) users. We do have a new release which is due shortly - which fixes this problem.
