VoIP

Postby RonnellV » Aug 29 04 6:11 pm

Hi,
There was an issue which was raised on 13 Apr 04 about Internet Telephony. There was a mention that Wingate does not comply with it yet and hopinh to be solved soon. Is there any fix yet?
We are using a Freshtel FT102 Handset with FireFly Soft Phone software. It works with direct connection but not through wingate. On the technical support about working behind firewall, there were saying port 4569 should be opened. Please let me know if a fix has been put in place and the instruction on what need to be done.
Thanks.

Hi,

Officially we don't support VoIP, although we have tested Skype fone and it works nicely, so it's a bit hit and miss at the moment. Are you using a NAT connection? Have you opened port 4569 on the firewall? You can try mapping the port through to the machine running the phone and check don't translate source IP.

VoIP configuration

Postby nstancioff » Sep 28 04 6:01 am

have succeeded in getting VoIP to work with a SIP device through Wingate 6.0.

I want to save the configuration file so as to fine tune the configuration and understand exactly what is working. I would then post my configuration.

Though documentation mentions a "save registry" button, when running Gatekeeper on wingate server I don't see it.

As I have created a pop3 problem I would want to revert configuration files so as to test what I may have done wrong.

In Outook 2002, when I download mail from Compuserve, it keeps resending the mail appearing to fail to clear the server, and then hangs without getting to the SMTP routine.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi there

You can save your WinGate registry settings, by selecting "Advanced" from the "Options" menu at the top of GateKeeper. Select the troubleshooting configuration icon and it will give you a screen with a button that lablled "Save registry settings".
