Error: Caught socket exception in CWWWSession

Postby jiandc » Oct 04 04 9:26 pm

Hi,

Below is from WWW Server Log file.

10/03/04 19:26:06 192.168.10.150 UserName 0000020453 Error: Caught socket exception in CWWWSession::HTTPProcessRequest() Host name lookup for 'isp.proxy.server.net' failed - terminating

Once this appears, users are unable to browse the internet.
I have to manually restart the WG Server to correct this.

Wingate connection setting is "Through cascaded proxy server" as this is required by our ISP.

The problem usually occurs at night without a specific time.
Wingate is running fine the whole day after I manually restart it in the morning.

I checked the DNS Log and this is what I found:

10/03/04 18:25:31 Request: request [02a5ccc8] A lookup 'isp.proxy.server.net'
10/03/04 18:25:31 Error: bounce request [02a5ccc8]<1> to try 3 (no specific and cannot select)

Try specifying your DNS Server in the DNS/WINS resolver section in GateKeeper, then it doesn't have to discover a known server.

Secondly, are you using Active Directory, at all?

Hi,

The IP Address of our ISP's DNS Server is specified and we are not using Active Dir.
