Error in POP3 proxy server

Postby andrisrekke » Apr 07 04 11:13 pm

There is such a mistake, when I'm trying to recieve e-mail:
04/07/04 12:41:29 10.10.10.231 user1 0000001890 Error: Caught socket exception in CPOP3Session::OnRead() Connection to Remote Host timed out - terminating

Mail server is working without any problems. There is a mistake only when I'm receiving e-mail via Wingate. There is not always a mistake - one time of every 5-10 tryes to receive e-mail.

I have Windows XP sp1, Wingate 5.2.3, Kaspersky AntiVirus for WinGate 1.2.2 released 11 Dec 2003 in my computer.

This is in the POP3 Proxy and not the POP3 server i take it? andrisrekke does this happen if you remove the AV from the POP proxy? Also, both of you, what happens if you use telnet from the client PC instead of the email client? When you issue a RETR command for the message that is getting stuck does it all download correctly then? Is there any common connection between the emails that get stuck? Always from the same user / always over a certain sixe, for example?

I would also highly recommend upgrading to WinGate 6, as this has numerous improvements and enhancements for Mail.

Regards
