WinGate 5.0 - login problem

Postby simpo » Oct 17 04 2:36 am

Hi!
J have 3 PCs with Wingate installed on.

192.168.0.1 - WinGate PC (serwer instaled), Windows Xp Pro
192.168.0.10 - WinGate Client, Windows Xp Pro
192.168.0.11 - WinGate Client, Windows Xp Home

I have three users (+admin and +quest of coz):
user1
user2
user3

I need to bind users to machines, i do it for 2 of them, so:
x.x.x.10 = user1
x.x.x.11 = user2

And I need to bind the last one but I can't. Wingate server doesn't see any traffic from this comupter (192.168.0.1) :(.

What should I do to do it ??? Please reply me very fast.

WinGate won't see traffic from the local machine unless you explicitly redirect it through WinGate. So, your best option would be to setup each application to proxy directly through the WinGate machine (127.0.0.1)

Thanx for very quick reply...

I tried to do it, and after your post i did it again. But it's not working :(.
I set in my IE6.0 configuration "Use proxy server" on 127.0.0.1 port 80 (where Wingate proxy is runing on) but it takes no changes. I think that it's imposible to do that, becouse my Wingate PC is connectd directly (ADSL modem) to ISP.

Have anyone other ideas ?? :(
