Port redirection problem

Postby andyng » Nov 27 04 11:31 am

Hi,

Sorry for the duplicated posting as I previous posted this in the VPN forum.

Just setup Wingate 6.03 with Version 5 key. I am a bit lost on how to configure for the following senario.

1. Have install Wingate on Win2003 Server with a fix ip broadband and a local network card.
2. Remote control services bind to local network card
3. Wingate is configure (system policy) everyone must be authenticated.
4. WWW proxy set for Java authentication
5. Guest account set with a password.
6. 1 assume users for a local fix ip

Everything (surfing the net from lan to internet) seems to work for the assume users and also users need to authenticate as required. I however have problem with incoming request to my local FTP and Mail server. I have enable incoming port 110 and 21 to be redirected to a local fix ip. Incoming request from the internet to these port does not work.

Is there a problem with my setup.

Thank you.
Andy Ng.

If there is a client connecting to these ports, can you see a connection in Gatekeeper? Do your FTP or mail server logs register these connections?

Hi Genie,

Setup is like this

Inernet ADSL ------ NIC1
Wingate
NIC2 ------ LOCAL LAN --------- MAIL SERVER

From the net I am trying to access the mailserver with port redirection. If I enable users must authenticate then I have problem access the mail server because the system message indicated that Guest authenticated fail. I have setup a password for Guest.
