Satellite Downlink - Cascade 'SOCKS' proxy ???

Postby anaswhb » Nov 30 04 9:00 am

Dear Qbik Team,
I am using a satellite connection for downlink and a dialup isp connection for uplink. FTP and WWW is configured to use the satellite proxy (cascade proxy) (I am using NAT and Proxy redirection).

But how can i enter cascade proxy for SOCKS connections ? All the messengers ( MSN / Yahoo / etc) are currently opening from normal dialup connection. They do not use my satellite service.

Please help me...

Thanks,

If you are using WinGate 6.0 you should be able to force it to use your Sattelite connection using the "Gateways" feature on the SOCKS Proxy.

You can use version 6 with your version 5 license key - it will give you access to gateways.

Thanks,

Now I am facing a problem in v6. (NAT). When a user requests some resource, gatekeeper shows just "http://" and the website does not open on the user side. user browser shows "Waiting for reply...".

Are the adapters detected correctly as "Internal" and "External"?

Yes, I've checked it out. The settings are correct by default.

Is this only with certain resources or with anything?
