probems with 5.0.2, symantec anti virus and XP SP2

Postby NJEbden » Dec 16 04 4:32 am

Hi,

I have a client who is running Wingate 5.0.2, a couple of weeks ago they installed XP Home SP2 and are using this computer to connect a small network to the internet. They run Symantec Anti Virus Enterprise 8 as a virus software.

Since they installed SP2 this machine keeps hanging and running at 100% CPU. I have tied it down to the rtvscan process but am at a loss as to know how to resolve this issue. Please can someone help me...

Thanks and Best Regards
Nicola

Stop the WinGate engine and then move the history.dbf and history.cdx files out of the WinGate folder to a backup location. Then restart the WinGate engine.

Pascal,

Thank you for your suggestion which I have done, this appears to have solved the problem but am continuing to monitor the situation for the next couple of days.

Thank you again,

Nicola
