Wingate and Gatekeeper - socket error 10049

Postby notfall » Apr 02 05 11:20 pm

Hello to everybody...
I have a problem with Wingate and Gatekeeper.
Since yesterday I cannot login to gatekeeper because of a this message.
"Problem connecting to server. There was a problem connecting. Socket error. Socket error 10049" and cannot continue.
I have an old version (3.05) but until now I had no reasons to upg.
An idea of log file SOCKS Proxy server.02Apr05

Hi,

What applications do you have running on 192.168.6.31 machine? Looks like it tries sending unsupported DNS queries.

10049 indicates the address you are trying to connect to is not available. (Checking Winsock2 header file) By default, Gatekeeper should connect to WinGate on localhost. So, three things I'd check:

1. IP address / name you are trying to connect to with Gatekeeper
2. That the IP is available (Should be - check "ping localhost" from a command prompt)
3. That you are running the same versions (Gatekeeper matches engine version)
