wingate for reformatted client

Postby anna » Apr 03 05 1:06 pm

I have Wingate version 4.5.x and run XP. My machine is the server. My husband's machine runs ME and has just had to be reformatted to clear all manner of infection. I can't figure out from WG help how to reset up his machine as the client.
I'd appreciate advice or a walk-through if anyone is so inclined.
Thank you.

On his machine, were you running the WinGate Client or were you just using the WWW proxy?

If you still have the 4.5 install you should be able to run in on his system and select client install.

It was a download but I still have the applicable license number and other assorted verification material. I haven't found a spot for downloads on the Wingate/Qbik site.

If you don't still have the download your choices are:

Download 6.0.4 - your licence should work but you won't get some of the new features.

Wait for one of the Qbik folks to come on line tomorrow and see if they can get you a copy of 4.5.

I'd go for the 6.0.4 - very stable.

Let us know how it goes.
