Very slow java authentication

I have slow response (1 minute) with java client authetication after I have upgraded Java to 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_02-b09) in Windows XP sp2 no firewall settings enabled. What is the problem?

Only the first time or every time? I've noticed that the first time the Java VM starts up on a machine there is a significant delay (Depending on PC speed). Thereafter however it stays relatively fast and constant.

This happens everytime I log in after the installation of java 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_02-b09) sometime Wingate doesn't log me saying "error... no response on port" even if the credentials are correct and the server with Wingate up and running...

Make sure you haven't tinkered with java applet settings.

Opera browser tends to load the java applet MUCH quicker than IE from my experience, IE can take ages even if java has been loaded previously.
