How does Linux Distro connect to Wingate Server running Windows platform?

Do I need to install Wingate X on Server running Wingate, can they coexist?

Also can't find Wingate X downloads trial.

Sorry if I posted a question regarding Wingate X in this forum - a bit confuse on how to go, since Wingate X is for Linux but using Wingate.

No, you do not need WingateX - Wingate handles TCP/IP traffic regardless of the platform initiating it.

To allow your Linux box to utilise the (Windows)WinGate Servers internet connection, you would use NAT. To set this up, you modify the Linux box's TCP/IP settings.:


On the Linux box, point the deault gateway and dns towards the (Windows) WinGate server internal IP address.

For example:
WinGate Box
IP Address 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

Linux box
IP Address 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1
DNS Address 192.168.0.1 (or one supplied by your ISP)
