Client negotiates SSL control channel but does not connect

Postby Paulferrari » Jul 06 05 11:51 pm

Laptop1 connects to remote server fine.

Laptop2 is setup identically to Laptop1. When I try to connect to the server via the same router (laptop1 disconnected), I get a brief message saying Connected: SSL Channel Negotiated

Then it goes back to Ferrari Dewe & Co (join)

Server side, the message is simply xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx has disconnected. None of the usual channel negotiation messages etc.

Firewall on both laptops is off.

What versions of Wingate do you have installed on both machines?

Laptop1 6.0.3 build 1005

Laptop2 6.0.4 build 1025

Looks like there might be a problem with the later version.

Thanks - does the log file for VPN shows anything, like errors reported or something?

It was an authentication problem. I changed the username to the one used by laptop1 and it connected fine.

However I reentered the username for laptop2 on both client and server side to ensure both are the same and back to the old behaviour.

Then looked at the policy server side. The Username from laptop2 was missing and when I added it everthing connected just fine.
