wingate vpn and remote desktop

Postby OllivierGuignard » Jul 19 05 1:36 am

Hi,
I bought wingate vpn to be able to use remote desktop buyt I'm experiencing a few problems. I can manage to create tunnel and connect to the client computer (via direct ip adress as there is no published routes appearing in wingate for the network). The remote client, can log in with username and password and see his screen, but if he tries to use his mouse or his keyboard a ping sound and he can't do anything. It used to work fine with xp VPN but I believe it could be due to MTU settings. r u aware of these problemes and do u have a solution please,
thanks

Hi Ollivier,

So you are not seeing any routes listed under published routes? This indicates that the host server is set to no local participation which could be why the remote desktop is not working. Please check the VPN properties and make sure you have selected either local machine only or local network for the participation level.
