why does my connection drops

Postby tornado » Jul 23 05 10:53 am

I used 5.2.3 wingate and out of my four connections only two used to work. now when i upgrade to 6.0.4 (trial) out of 4 connections after sometime one connection drops and is unable to resume. http://img314.imageshack.us/my.php?image=770vr.png
why is it dropping. how to stop it from dropping. Can all the connections work well in version 5.2.3 as well?

What are these connections? Are they dial-ups or network cards?

O.k let me explain u everything in detail. I have four 256 kbps conection and four motorola 5100 cable modems my operating system is windows XP Home edition. I plugged three modems in the USB slot of my laptop and one in my NIC card. I made two setups here is the first setup.

in the first setup i made a www proxy at port 1111 and in the bindings i unchecked bind to any ip address on any internal adapter. then in the gateways i choose the four laocal area network connections that i have and on each local area network connection Any Gateway under Gateways and Any IP address under Souce IP Adress was selected. rest of the settings were left to default. one more SOCKS proxy server was created at port 5555 with the same settings as above. I also chosse the rotate connections option in the four local area networks.
No i gave the internet explorer the WW proxy server settings and my IP addresses were rotating fine when i checked from whatismyip.com
After that i used a torrent client and gave it the SOCKS proxy settings to work on. It worked fine for sometime then suddenly it dropped one connection out of the four then it regained it then after sometime it dropped another connection then after sometime regained it again.
So i get 256+256+256+256 = 1mbps that i sround 120 kilobytes per sec. upload and download but this badwidth keeps fluctuating. when all the four connections r working i get pure 1mbps but when one or two drops the bandiwdth fluctuates to 512 kbps and sometimes 384 kbps. And it's not always one specific connection drops any connection drops after it reaccquires all the four connections.

In the second setup i made 4 www proxies and 4 socks proxies all corresponding to one local area connection. now whenever i configured IE with a www proxy it will show the ip address of that local area connection which is associated with the ww proxy that IE is using so the setup seems fine. I opened four diffrent torrent clients. and gave all the four itorrent clients four socks proxies now all the four torrent clients started but the balancing was not like 256+256+256+256 it was like 512+256+64+190
that means the balancing was not well done. i want a setup on which on one computer i can use four diffrent torrent clients running on four diffrent socks p[roxies and each one getting 256 kbps.

a little explanation why i need this i download from a torrent site now this torrent sites tracker work on ip basis so u download a torrent then u need to login to the site with that ip address which u will use to download the torrent. so i have four accounts and will download from four torrent clients each having one socks proxy and i will login to the site from 4 diffrent accounty with four diffrent www proxy so that all my ip address get registered and r allowed to download. i cannot use more than 2 ip's for a download task one ip per download. So how can i make this setup as wingate dosen't balance the 4 256 kbps line in these 4 torrent clients???

Also in the second setup the only one gateway and one ip was choosen in the gateways and Sorce Ip address istead of chossing Any gateway and Any Ip address. that means 4 socks service each hacing one local area connection and in that local area connection only the static ip address of the modem and it's gateway is choosen. I have 4 diffrent static ip address and four diffrent gateways as well.
