Connecting to an IMAP server

I have a visiting laptop wishing to connect to a remote IMAP server through Wingate 6.0.3. Presumably, I'd open up port 143 for the laptops IP (or the whole network - I'm not fussy) in both directions. Is this possible?

More importantly, can someone provide Noddy, step-by-step instructions?

Does your WinGate configuration allow NAT?



That would be an easy solution to use, but, without policies, it will allow the contractor to pretty much use any application he wanted; and anyone else who has the WinGate server set as their Default Gateway.

Yes, General purpose NAT is activated. I want to say:

"Allow anyone to connect to anyone on any port, both ways" and worry about security later.

I've also got an exchange server running which is sending mail but not receiving. I want to say to wingate:

"send all port 25 stuff to IP xxxx"

It's just not clear how to do all this.

Yes, I'm new to Wingate.

I'm giving it today then I'm disconnecting wingate and buying a cheapo adsl router with NAT.

Mapping ports is done via the Port Security windows, as shown in the image.

I think there are also problems with DNS generally in the network, so until I can exclusively blame Wingate, I think this thread should be closed. Thanks for the help.
