errr VPN i guess

Postby evo_182 » Aug 18 05 1:50 am

hello

I am expanding my network and I have looked into VPN's and it seems they are a must. I am new to this so do I need a VPN server software and a VPN client to connect to it?

If so does the WinGate VPN 2.0 gateway license for 3 user LAN do that for me ?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

WinGate VPN installs as a server, so it can host VPNs and join VPNs at the same time.

You must install WinGate VPN at each end of the VPN and the LAN machines connect to the VPN through the servers. Nothing needs to be installed on the LAN clients as long as you can set the default gateways to point at the WinGate server.

A gateway license allows machines behind the WinGate server to see the VPN, so if you have more than one machine at the host location that you need to access you will need a gateway license.

A single user license allows only the WinGate VPN server to join the VPN.

Regards,

Matt
