When connect to VPN server, internet server access go down

Postby atzab » Aug 24 05 10:46 pm

I'm evaluating Wingate VPN but I'm having some problems:

I've installed and setup the server and one client. Server OS is Windows Server 2003 with Internet static adress. Client is XP Professional and local IP is in a different subnet that server. I've joined VPN importing the config file.

When connect to VPN, the connection is succesful and I can see the server name (testing) but result is 'not accessible'. Then I try browse to web server (same server machine) and is not accessible. Neither ftp, ping or other public services. After few minutes, it recovery Internet visibility and works fine.

What is happening?

More info:

Windows Server Firewall is disabled and port 809 is open in wingate firewall. Both, server and client are behind NAT/routers (not firewalls). Client router is DSL cable.

I think that server is again visible from Internet when it closes the VPN tunnel because client has disconnect. If I disconnect manualy and try to reconnect, fails, of course.

Can you help me, please?

Can you send me your routing table (route print command) and ipconfig (ipconfig /all command) results?

Thanks for your help Genie.

I send you commands results by mail.
The test system is only one server and only one client. No other LAN machines are connected. The server is in ISP provider as dedicated server and client at home.
