Not activating over Internet

I have been installing Wingate VPN on a couple of laptops to connect to a server when out out of the office. I have tried to get a trial activation key on the net but it fails. On one laptop it just stops with the blue progress bar halfway along during connect to server. On the other it says connection failed - error 12029. As far as I know both laptops are set up the same way (XP Pro).

I have sent emails off to get activation keys sent out, but for future reference I am interested to know why the web activation is failing. I have succesfully registered other computers in 2-3 suconds.

Hi Archie,

It's hard to say why you wouldn't be able to connect to our activation server, can you connect to our website from these machines? Perhaps you've tried to connect when the server is unavailable?

Have you received the activation files yet?

Didn;t try to connect to website from that machibne, but was online to your server from another (to read the documentation) at the time.
DNS resolved OK.

No sign at all of activation emails. At this rate we are going to have to look fro an alternative product.

What was the email address that you sent the activation requests from? I've searched the activation records for your address but nothing showed up. If you can send them again I'll keep an eye out for them.

I have resent the emails to activation at qbik.com

The originals were from simon at frasertech.co.uk and graham at frasertech.co.uk

I have resent them from ac at mansol.com

Ok, you should have received a reply to the mansol address, if you haven't please let me know.

Also, I've searched the sent folder and an email was sent to simon at frasertech on the 5th of September, and we haven't had a failure notice, maybe it's in your spam filter?

They say email not received on either frasertech address.
However, I did receive your email at mansol address, thank you.
I have now been able to activate one client OK and hopefully will set up the other tomorrow.
