access to local FTP Server not on the proxy

hello i use the 6.0.4 wingate (on a w2k pro)
i try to setup an access from external (Internet) to a local ftp server not installed on the proxy
i try to simply modify the default FTP Proxy services, server proxy requests, i parameter the IP adress to the local FTP server and its port on 2121 (its good settings, verify local access with an FTP client on this server:2121 works fine)
as described in the forum
but access from external don't work
i open also in ENS the port 2121 ...
could you list the point to verify for this working ?

Hi

I'm not sure if the correct firewall holes are automatically opened in this case.

The best way to allow external access to a LAN-based FTP server is using ENS redirection.

1. Open GateKeeper
2. Double-click on Extended Networking
3. Select "Port Security"
4. if there is an entry for port 21 under "Connections from the Internet", "TCP", edit it, otherwise add a new entry.

In the Port Range Configuration dialog, select

Description: Incoming FTP

Ports 21 to 21

Action-> Redirect packet to IP address [enter IP of your LAN FTP server]

click OK. That should do it.

it's works ... but when the FTP client try to LIST the contain of directory
LIST
150 Opening data connection for directory list.
501 Cannot RETR. Client data socket connection error: 10061
and no listing
locally it works but externaly it don't want to list the contain of directory
any idea (socket ...?)

What FTP server are you using?

Try selecting on that redirection entry "don't translate source IP".

this will only work if the WinGate machine is also the default gateway for the FTP server machine.
