Blocking unwanted email

Postby stanwoods » Nov 18 03 9:49 pm

Could anyone offer a pointer to this. I have Wingate 5.1 with Puresight and AV plugins. I user EFS to collect email (pop3) and use MS Exchange behind it to process and deliver email. I want to block inappropriate mailings, either by a domain ban list or using a similar mechanisn to Pure sight - but for email.

Any suggestions?
Kind regards

Stan,

If you were using the WinGate SMTP server it would be pretty easy. I think in the next Major release of WinGate, POP will be included in this, but I can't swear to it.

If you could have your POP mail forwarded to your WinGate SMTP server, you could possibly scan & ban before passing it on to your MS Exchange server. Still may be tricky since the POP ISP is the last to handle the mail.

Does EFS automatically forward to your MS Exchange Server?

Hi Larry, Ineresting idea... yes EFS gets mail from ISI pop3 and forwards it to Exchange SMTP.
