Page can not be displayed

Postby Ann » Oct 07 05 4:17 am

Hello,

I am running into a problem when trying to access the web page.
http://ujsportal.pacourts.us/

I am able to get to the page, but when I click on E-services, and county court calendar, and do a search on any of the items, I get page can not be displayed.

I checked the log and saw the following entry.
Does this give you any idea of what the problem is?

10/06/05 10:46:54 10.174.174.250 ann 0000004624 Error: Caught socket exception in CWWWSession::OnRead() Connection Reset by Remote Host - terminating

Hi Ann,

Could be the site, it wouldn't allow me access, although that isn't so surprising given that I am a foreigner!

Good luck!

Edit: 12/10/2005 the site is actually giving good access now to the lists [and files] for me via proxy using Mozilla 1.7.11!

So something has changed other than with my configuration perhaps?

I did look into IE. It still did not work.
Other offices within our building, outside of our network can access the site. I can also access it at home.

I think it is related to Wingate.

Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks,
Ann

I just tested this on two machines, and it worked; gee, I hate it when that happens!

1. WinGate 6.0.4, Proxy connection only, XPSP2, IE 6, result as shown.

2. WinGate 6.0.4, Proxy connection only, Win2000 Srv, IE 5 (only date field not showing but could still do searches)

Questions.

a) What version of WinGate?
b) What connection method? NAT / Proxy / WinGate Internet Client (WGIC) / Combination
c) What version of Internet Explorer

Can you access it if you just use NAT; no proxies or intercepts?

hi

This sounds like it could be an MTU issue.

Do you have a PPPoE or PPPoA internet connection? these connections reduce the maximum size a packet is allowed to be. We have had some problems with WinGate running over reduced-MTU links lately. It does funny things to secure connections.

First thing to check:

in each adapter in GateKeeper (on the Network tab), double click the adapter. In the Details tab, there is an entry called MTU. If this is much lower than 1500, there could be a problem. To reset this, disable then re-enable the network adapter in "My Network Places", properties.

The MTU entries for each adapter were 1500.

Any other ideas??

Thanks,
Ann

Hi Ann

the only other thing I can think of is maybe the page is cached?

Could you

1. clear the cache on the browser client
2. In winGate's cache configuration, set "days before recheck..." to 0 for both options.
3. Purge WinGate's cache, or disable cache additions and lookups whilst you test this.

Regards

Finally figured it out!
I lowered the MTU from 1500 to 1450 and that fixed the problem!

Thanks for your help!
